Choosing a Sandbox Provider-03
Choosing a Sandbox Provider
You can bring your own sandbox client or use one of Anthropic’s supported providers.
Cloudflare runs sandboxes using microVMs and lightweight isolates. It gives you zero-trust secrets injection, customizable proxies for auditing or rerouting egress, and the ability to connect to internal services over Cloudflare’s network. Amplitude used this to build an internal design agent for on-brand mockups — up and running in two days on infrastructure their team already knew.
Daytona sandboxes are long-running and stateful. The same environment can handle a quick burst or an agent working for hours. Sandboxes stay accessible over SSH or an authenticated preview URL and can be paused and restored with full state preserved. Clay’s GTM engineering agent, Sculptor, runs on Managed Agents with Daytona — autonomously building, testing, and monitoring GTM workflows.
Modal is built specifically for AI workloads. Sub-second startup on any image, scales to hundreds of thousands of concurrent sandboxes, and GPU resources on demand. It shares the same foundation as Modal’s functions, storage, and networking primitives, so you’re not bolting on a separate system — it integrates with what you’re likely already using.
Vercel combines VM security with VPC peering and millisecond startup time. A standout feature: credentials are injected at the network boundary by the sandbox firewall, so they never enter the sandbox itself. Rogo, an AI platform for institutional finance, uses this to build an analyst agent that handles proprietary financial data.
